MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES

Outreach Services and Peers Support  | Navigation and Connection to Services.

 

Our Wheels for Recovery staff provides connection and support to vulnerable citizens to services in the community that they may otherwise not reach.

The staff helps people navigate systems, ensuring that they get to scheduled appointments by providing reminder calls, transportation, and caring support.

WFR Clients also have access to other services and programs offered by The Daily Dose Society,

 

  • Administrative support

    • Assistance with completing applications for ID,

    • Banking services,

    • Housing; referrals to primary care and addictions treatment services;

    • Referrals to drop-in shelters,

    • Food banks

    • Support with access to harm reduction supplies - Naloxone,

    • Naloxone training

 

  • Access to basic needs

    • Including food,

    • Clothes

    • Hygiene supplies.

The Wheels for Recovery program addresses the social determinants of health including:
   

  • Reducing isolation,

  • connecting with community services,

  • navigating services,

  • providing basic needs to help people gain stability and improved health and well-being.

  •  

  • We have found that transportation is one of the biggest factors that help keep people engaged in services that support their well-being and recovery (as defined by them).
